Running two holiday cottages means I do a lot of cleaning!
Over the years I’ve tried plenty of different cleaning products, but I’ve gradually found a handful that I come back to again and again. I don’t think you need cupboards full of different cleaners — I much prefer products that are easy to use and simply do the job well.
These are the ones I genuinely use at Wellhouse Farm Cottages when I’m getting the cottages ready for our next guests.
1. Zoflora Multipurpose Disinfectant Cleaner Spray
This is probably one of my most-used products. I use it for general cleaning around the cottages and I actually leave a bottle in each cottage for guests to use during their stay too.
I like having something simple that I can grab for lots of everyday jobs rather than needing a different spray for everything.
2. Zoflora Bathroom Cleaner
Bathrooms obviously need a lot of attention between guests, so a good bathroom cleaner is essential.
This is another one I’ve continued buying because it’s straightforward and convenient for regular changeovers.
3. Zoflora Floor Cleaner
With guests coming and going — and our cottages being dog friendly — floors get plenty of use!
I use the Zoflora floor cleaner as part of my normal cottage cleaning routine and it’s another product I regularly replace rather than constantly trying something new.
4. Method Glass Cleaner
This is my go-to for glass and shiny surfaces.
It’s one of those products that earns its place in my cleaning cupboard because I actually use it rather than buying it and forgetting about it.
5. Microfibre Cleaning Cloths
Possibly the least exciting item on my list — but probably one of the most useful!
I buy these grey microfibre cloths in a large pack and use them constantly around the cottages. They’re washable, reusable and having plenty available makes changeover days much easier.
Would I buy them again?
Yes — and that’s really the point of this list.
These aren’t necessarily the fanciest cleaning products available. They’re simply the things I’ve found myself buying again because they work for me when I’m cleaning our holiday cottages.
